insureFLEET Bake Off so far….
With the Great British Bake Off in full swing on the BBC, our team have decided to test their skills with some healthy competition to see who is the best InsureFLEET baker. We are now three weeks in, and the competition is heating up as we’re down to our final two weeks.
Week 1
The first week was Drizzle Cake week. There were some very tasty cakes from the classic lemon drizzle cake to a more exotic passionfruit drizzle cake.
The star baker for the first week was Marian and unfortunately Matt was eliminated. The next week’s challenge was biscuits – all the biscuits had to be uniform, have a good crunch and be filled with great flavour. We couldn’t wait to see what our bakers would bring to the table.
Week 2
The second week of the bake off was biscuit week. Biscuit week was a great week for flavours with peanut butter and chocolate chip biscuits, shortbread and chocolate, sugar swirls and chocolate orange biscuits.
The star baker for the second week in a row was Marian! She had the winning biscuits which were peanut butter and chocolate chip flavour. This week, Ryan was eliminated from the bake off. The competition is getting really tight as we move into the quarter finals. Next time it’s chocolate sponge week (the most highly anticipated challenge to date, with our chocoholic judge!).
Week 3
The quarter finals have been our favourite so far – we were in chocolate heaven. This round was quite a tense round with all the baked goods being crafted to an exceptionally high standard.
The star baker for the quarter finals was InsureFleet Manager Lou with her amazing chocolate cake. Sadly, we said goodbye to our star baker for the last two weeks, Marian. The next round will be the semi-finals so to test the bakers, it’s going to be quite a challenge… Pavlova week!
